Topic: Asio4All - Exclusive use of soundcard?
Hi forum, I have yet another annoying Asio4All config question. Has anyone ever used an HDMI audio out that didn't monopolize the soundcard when pianoteq + asio4all is activated? I just bought myself an AMD 6950 video card, and I like the HDMI audio, so finally I tried to use Asio4All with pianoteq again and it's very fast (no perceptible lag as far as I can tell). This compares favorably with my Xonar DX's native Asio drivers. But there is a downside...
What I'd like to do is play piano training mp3s while I play pianoteq at the same time, but as soon as I start up pianoteq Winamp stops working. I'm running Windows 7 64 bit. My old analog sound card, the Xonar DX, could run both Asio and WDM at the same time and thus let me play along with the music, but I'd rather not have to switch audio inputs because then I lose video. I could switch the hdmi inputs on my TV to use the output from the video card's DVI adapter and use my Xonar DX like I used to, but my goal is to get rid of it entirely. Well, maybe build a smaller computer next to my Kawai MP8-ii that's focused on Pianoteq (using headphones), but it's just annoying that even with this setup, I can't get on my main speakers both mp3s and pianoteq at the same time without a mess of cables and swithing all sorts of inputs each time.
Has anyone else solved this problem? Of Asio4All monopolizing your soundcard?
