Topic: MIDI mapping: use soft pedal to toggle an effect

I would like to use the soft pedal (CC 67) to toggle effect 1. I only get it to switch the effect on when I press the pedal, but as soon as I release it the effect is switched off again. Instead, I want latching behavior: one momentary press to turn the effect on, another press to turn it off. I've tried "Set Parameter", "Toggle Parameter", and the other options, but I can't seem to make it work as intended.

Is this possible in some way?

Hello murmichel, in the MIDI Mapping window you need select the option "Restrict the value range of Controller 67 > value = 127" in the drop-down menu of "Controller 67". Also make sure to set it to Toggle. Hope it helps!

Re: MIDI mapping: use soft pedal to toggle an effect

I was thinking to build a quick Max patch to do it when Alexis replied and I realized it can be done directly in Pianoteq. It's much better that way—you don't need a pedal switch or any intermediate software to remap the MIDI data. Thanks Alexis, thanks Modartt!!

Thanks, Alexis, it works exactly as I was hoping for.
