Topic: Have You Met Miss Jones (Pianoteq)

here's one of standards that everyone plays, a Rodgers and Hart classic.  pretty much a straight-ahead take on this tune.

Time to add a comment again about the divine playing of you, budo. Well done again.

I like this approach to this tune. I listened to Art Tatum playing the piece but I didn't like the way he did it…

You said: ”pretty much a straight-ahead take on this tune”.
Well, you play a lot and feel that way. But for me as a listener and who can't play jazz it sounds absolutely fantastic. Harmonic sense, taste and technical mastery are a joy to listen to. It is especially in the middle section about 1,42 - 2,05  I enjoyed much.

And nice ending with several 7 chords before the ending ”glitter/sparkle”

Best wishes,

Stig

P.S.
If you have time would be nice to hear your comment on this Electric Guitar with a bit strings in the middle section (G-600 workstation).

Straight-ahead take, but it works very well.

Nice playing, as always (I could describe but it would be a bit long). To me, this tune has a colour/vibe close to The Days of Wine And Roses (I'm thinking about the melody and harmony vibes).

thank you Stig! i have listened to the Art Tatum recording myself (it's quite famous) and i have to conclude that his version is much better   but i am very glad that you enjoyed it.

i thought the electric guitar with the roland was great!  it had a real 80s vibe to it, especially the synth bass.  lots of fun

thank you so much Borealis, i appreciate it.  i can see what you mean, comparing it to Wine and Roses, there is a similar feel somehow.
