Topic: Extended techniques

I'm considering to get Pianoteq. But first I would like to know if, given that this sw is based on physical model synthesis, it is possibile to realize extended techniques such as: piano harmonics (by playing a note while keeping down, undamped, other notes so that the harmonic results from symphatetic vibrations) or half pedal and all the fractions of pedal in the continuum of the pedal range. I don't even dare to think about actions in the string board or things such as prepared piano. Thank you for any help!

Re: Extended techniques

Short answer, yes. This page has a reasonable summary of the various phenomena simulated: https://www.modartt.com/pianoteq_features it covers all the usuals including sympathetic resonances, gradual pedal release, release-catch, inharmonicities etc

Not mentioned are that there are several forms of preparation (muting, felting, papering) included via the specialty pedals.

I can not think of any playing technique that isn't accurately represented by pianoteq (including freaky things like microtonality and retuning on the fly)

Re: Extended techniques

Wow!

Thank you!
