Topic: Steinway Wide Unison Missing in v9

Hi Modartt team,

Great job on version 9 have been using since release and I am finding some parts missing; I understand the mono/stereophonic options are now removed but why remove the Wide Unison the Steinway D?

Using the slider I don't seem to be able to to get a similar effect around the previous 1.30 mark and have to go much higher which makes the unison effect a little too amplified in comparison to v8. Any chance of reinstating that?

Thanks,
J

Re: Steinway Wide Unison Missing in v9

Hey, as a side note, the team have made the v8 Steinway versions available already: https://www.modartt.com/pianoteq_legacy

So as a workaround you could experiment with morphing these with the v9?

Or if you want to get real crazy you could chain two Pianoteq instances together, use the v8 model for the dry sound and v9 for the resonances.

I'm just mentioning these options because the v9 models sound like fundamental reimplementations to me... so restoring one particular characteristic of the v8 sound without bringing everything else out of balance may be impossible.

Re: Steinway Wide Unison Missing in v9

It can be saved as a user preset in V8 and be loaded by V9.

Re: Steinway Wide Unison Missing in v9

Thank you both - some good options to work with, the saving as user preset was the quickest so opted to do that so I can quickly get back to playing. :-)
