Topic: Flat temperament = No stretch\iH correction? But it still stretches?

My impression was that setting the temperament to Flat meant that no stretching was applied. (Unless one moves the octave stretching slider to the right.)

However, if I set the temp to Flat, even if I move the Octave stretching slider all the way to the left, some notes appear to be stretched: In the Spectrum profile NE pane for the C3 piano, for example, C4 shows a freq of 524 on its fundamental, but C5 has a freq of 1051. A4 is 881 instead of the ET 880.

In other words, the iH correction is still turned on? Is it possible to turn it off entirely and retain pure theoretical ET? (I tried using both your recent AllNotesFlat scala template and the old Scala file ptf, but that doesn't work either: A4 is still 881...)

I'm sorry if I've asked this question before--I think I did, but that the answer was that the Flat temp turned off the stretch. But it seems to still be there...

Re: Flat temperament = No stretch\iH correction? But it still stretches?

Jake, there is a bug in the displayed frequencies that will be corrected in the next release. This is only a display bug, the audio is correct. For example, when the temperament is set to flat with diapason set to 440 and stretching set to 1, A4 (octave above) fundamental is exactly 880 Hz.

I see now. Thanks.
