Topic: Electric MKII "Spark" in soul combo setting

Hi everybody,

Here is a down to earth cover of th song "Colors" (by American psychedelic soul band Black Pumas 2019)
performed by the band I'm fortunate to be a part of.

I used the MKII "Spark" Preset for the Rhodes piano. The controller is a Roland RD-800.

Hope you like it (Keyboard-Solos from 4:30).

Hello Stefan,

Nice to see the group, good singer and I waited with interest for the MK ll solo (about 4.30 - 5,12) . Very nice sound. I like it and your playing. Would have been nice to hear more of the solo  Thank you for sharing.

I like the MK ll and MK l too. Here an example with MK l Bamboo.

sounds great! the rhodes models don't get enough love imo.  great job on the solo too.  also one doesn't often see a left handed / right footed drummer in the wild!

Thanks stig and budo, I very much appreciate constructive comments !

When I play with headphones the PT Rhodes modelling is by far my one and only choice for Fender Rhodes emulations.

Complaining on high ground I kind of find it hard to get that nuanced sound on stage via sound systems even very good ones. It then always has a tendency to sound a bit thin and washy.

Any recommendations to solve that ?

Really a great cover TJ, even if a bit far from what I usually listen to. You are a really good group and what a voice the singer has... Wow!
