Topic: Bartók: with Drums and Pipes - from Out of Doors

‘With Drums and Pipes’ is the first piece of ‘Out of Doors’ which consists of five pieces divided in two sets. It was composed at 1926, in the same year, Bartók composed several masterpieces including Piano Sonata, Piano Concerto No1.

‘Out of Doors’ has been my favorite since my youth, and I consider it Bartók's greatest masterpiece for solo piano.

Listen to the percussive sound in the lower register. Is there a sample-based piano library capable of producing this? I believe this demonstrates Pianoteq's superiority.

When trying out pianos in my youth, I often played the opening part of this piece. So I know how it sounds in acoustic pianos.

When I resumed playing the piano, I never thought I would be able to play the pieces that fascinated me in my youth again. Since around last year, about four years after restarting, the number of pieces I want to play has skyrocketed, and this is one of them.

I don't need many words to praise this performance - Triton - you are a huge talent, this performance is awesome, excellent! Bartok is not easy.
Thank you so much for sharing this one.

There was a time when I tried Bartok, but my fingers can't do this one on the piece I attach anymore. Stiff fingers.

Hi Stig,
Thank you so much! I'm so glad to read your comment.

And thank you for sharing your performance. I’ve listened to your ‘Perpetuum Mobile’ in several styles too, I like them. Your performance and your choice of instruments ( orchestration?) are great.

I'm thinking of sharing some performances besides Bach. I'm a bit nervous about how they will be received, but your comment has really encouraged me!
