Topic: When I Fall In Love (Pianoteq)

i hope everyone is having a good Valentine's day.  in honor of it i did another (non-traditional) version of the great standard "When I Fall In Love."  this one was done using one of the felted pianos, which are fun to mess around with.  there were lots of changes to the harmony in lead sheet (which in fact is already Bill Evans's modifications to the original, so now we're really distant from the actual tune ...)  i hope it works!

i also recorded this tune before, in the more usual way it's played

BRAVO Budo !
Really nice performance on this evergreen standard. Your new recording in comparison to the old one is much more spontaneous, fresh, dynamic and bubbling with joy. I really enjoyed it very much.
Thank you for sharing it.

Re: When I Fall In Love (Pianoteq)

Nice to hear felt piano. Not often used.
I think this ”felt version”make your playing different from the other pieces you have played, can’t explain why, but still top notch, exellent as always.

The second version you recorded before is fantastic, I remember it . It sounds so full of emotions -  The way you play piano here is so incredible, moving, exciting. Warm performance.

And, nice long ending ( the longest ending so far,  6,00 - 6,40 it is 40 seconds) and an interesting chord at the end. Thank you budo! I like it much!

Best wishes,

Stig

thank you Stig for listening.  i'm glad you liked it.  indeed the felt piano is kind of a different experience, don't know how to describe it.  i've only done a few recordings with it.  also i'm honored that you remembered the other performance
