Topic: New video Bach Prelude nr 9 in E Major BWV 854 from WTC I
Dear Friend,
New year, new Bach prelude, today we move in a decidedly pastoral climate after all the Christmas holidays have just passed. This is the first step of this new year towards my goal of trying to record all of Bach's WTC 1 with Pianoteq.
I am not certain whether writers on esthetics are really agreed that E-major is specially the key of deep green, of fully developed spring; it would be interesting to know the results of the late Prof. Dr. Fechner's enquiries respecting the parallelism between sensations of colour and tone. Anyhow, one has only to contrast the present number in the key of E-major, especially the prelude, with the preceding prelude and fugue (especially the latter) in Eb-
minor, in order to understand that music can concern itself with deep speculation of a religious-philosophical character as well as with the lively enjoyment of nature. The light arpeggio triplets with their delicately moving summits (as though ruffled by a soft breath of air), and the cosy little shake of the feathered singers concealed beneath them, wave like branches adorned with fresh leaves: below all is peaceful (stationary bass, and slow, onward-gliding middle voice).
Dear Pianoteq Friends ! I wish you and your family a Fantastic New Year !
