Topic: Install "Pianoteq free" KIViR.ptq on linux?

I've downloaded the "Pianoteq free" historical instruments file KIViR.ptq from here:

https://www.modartt.com/pianoteq_free

The docs there say "Install easily by dropping each downloaded .ptq file onto the Pianoteq interface."

That didn't seem to work on linux (arch linux, gnome shell, dragged the file from nautilus to Pianoteq).  Is there some other way to load it?

That's weird! Have you checked your ~/.local/share/Modartt/Pianoteq/Addons folder? Once added you should have the Kivir.ptq (and bells.ptq) inside.

I've had this problem as well (on Raspberry Pi OS/Debian). And it was just to move the .ptq files to the directory mentioned above (~/.local/share/Modartt/Pianoteq/Addons/). You should see the instruments after restarting Pianoteq if not right away.

Just remembered to check back here about this - moving the .ptq file to that directory worked, thanks!

The other way is to drag it on the standalone version.

It seems that there is some problem with dragging files to the Pianoteq interface in linux. For example, dragging midi files to the main interface of Pianoteq or to the playback window of midi files does not work for me. I use Fedora, Gnome shell and Nautilus. Adding files works via File->add. Most likely, this is some kind of flaw between Wayland and Juce.
