Topic: Upgrading from Standard to Pro question- new instrument included?

Hi All,
I could not find an answer to this question: If I upgrade from Pianotec Standard to Pro do I get another 4 Instruments added to those I already have or just one additional or none?
I'm just contemplating if I buy  just another instrument or upgrade to Pro. It would make more sense if I get an additional instrument with the upgrade.
Thanks for help
Markus

Hi Markus,

When I upgraded from Standard to Pro, at another of these very useful sales, I gained access to an additional instrument pack, which was the newly released "Classical Guitar" from memory. This gave me a total of four (4) complimentary instrument packs with my Pianoteq Pro, the three that I had already with the Pianoteq Standard, plus the additional one I gained through upgrading to Pianoteq Pro.

These sales are always a marvellous source of temptation,  justification  and satisfaction.

Hope this helps,
Michael

Hi Michael,
Thank you, this was exactly my question. So one more which is great.
How was your experience with upgrading? Did you find it useful?

Re: Upgrading from Standard to Pro question- new instrument included?

Hi Markus,

The practical experience of upgrading from Pianoteq Standard to Pianoteq Pro was relatively straight forward and painless. You just need to remember to upgrade your licence from within the Pianoteq application. It is the bit that everyone forgets and is the source to much discussion within this forum and endless "D'uh!" moments.

There is so much more that you can achieve with the Pianoteq Pro in comparison with the Standard version. If you are interested in sculpturing your own soundscapes then the possibilities within the Pro version are seemingly endless. There are enticing sound vistas that I haven't even explored as yet.

It is not a purchase you will regret I think, although the late nights with your head under the bonnet of Pianoteq Pro doing just one more interesting tweak can be tiring: pleasurable, fascinating but tiring

Do enjoy,
Michael

You mean soundscapes related to different and optimized piano sounds or also totally different sounds?
I have some experience of tiring  late night tweaking sessions. So this is a risk I can take.

Re: Upgrading from Standard to Pro question- new instrument included?

Of course, the different and optimised piano sound, that you hear in your mind, and are chasing through your tweaking may not exist in reality anyway. Plato's attic is full of perfect pianos.

As I have neither the space, nor the funding to purchase all of the instruments I have available  through Pianoteq and Organteq, the variations I construct are more dependent on my pleasure than an actual instrument.

One can also create totally new instruments with interesting tonal qualities and properties, especially once you start layering and morphing. It may have started out as a piano, or steel-pan drums or a guitar or a baroque organ, but Pianoteq Pro, and Organteq 2 give me the power to create endless new realities.

While the sale is on, could I suggest that you have a look at what Organteq 2 is capable of; it is far more than just an organ once you lift the bonnet.

The fascination, for me, is not just the instruments themselves, but the power that these applications give me to create new perfections and previously unknown sonic realities through the ability to tweak almost every known variable, to ones heart's desiring.

Re: Upgrading from Standard to Pro question- new instrument included?

Thank you Micheal for your elaboration. I will see how far it will take me. Probably getting Pro is a good idea since I want the Boesendorfer anyway and it is just 60,- Euro more.
