Topic: When Is the Black Friday Sale ?
Last year the sale started around 23rd of November and I bought quite few instrument packs on discount. Is it happening this year as well?

Thanks for asking. I am anxiously awaiting, too!
Last year, Thanksgiving day was on Nov 23. This year it's on Nov 28th. I wonder if we'll have to wait until then??

Thanks, will wait couple of days then and hopefully it will be announced.

Yeah, I'm anxious. LOL!!
Have been trying to decide which package, looking towards maybe the Pianoteq Pro... but... IF (big IF) the deals are good enough, I'm mulling over just going for the Studio. It's gonna have to be REALLY good, though. Not sure.
If I do go with just the Pro, I'm still not sure which pianos I really want. Kawai and Bosendorfer are a must. The other two, I'm not as solid on. I read opinions of others and both of the Steinways come up but the Bechstein, Petrof, and Bluthner are fairly frequent, and once in a while someone will mention the Grotrian or Steingraeber as being a favorite. They all have their interesting sounds... and if I went that far, I might as well just go ahead and get the Studio. I've also been told that the Classical Guitar is someone's favorite. LOL!! Decisions, decisions...
I’m hoping there will be a strong discount on the whole shebang. I’d really love to turn my Studiologic keyboard into a gymnasium full of pianos and whatnot. Sample-based pianos are… well, okay. But physics!

I tried to purchase... and my order seems to be stuck in cyber-purgatory. UUGGHHH!!!! I finally pull the trigger and nothing happens!
I wonder how long it's supposed to take for the bank (credit card) to process payment?

Hi, i usually buy instrument packs inside my pianoteq iOS app, but this time i'm hesitating because the price doesn't present the 20% discount when i'm going to check out with apple pay. It prompts me me that i'm paying 49,99 ...

Then don’t buy them in the app

We see that your purchase has finally been completed.
Payment went through! Downloaded, installed... and I'm gonna be busy for a while!
Lovin' it!!
Just went with the 4 newest pianos and have a feeling that'll keep me occupied for a bit. Mostly I'm back and forth between the Kawai and the Bosendorfer. Love those sounds.
Computer seems to keep up really well though I have seen what happens if it overloads. For me, that would take some "forearm smash" kinds of playing and that's not how I play so normal playing is just fine on the highest settings. It's odd that I didn't find that in the demo version. Either way, it's not a problem.
ETA;
And thank you Pianoteq support for sending a new link to get the payment stuff worked out. Obviously, it worked. And I'm a happy camper!

I shouldn't complain. My credit card company wanted to be sure it was really me trying to make the purchase so I had to verify with them that it was really me and that I was really trying to purchase from Modartt. It's good that they are on the lookout with so many out there that are up to no good.
Thanks for the quick reply to my support ticket. Again, loving the pianos!

Yes, I bought and installed Pianoteq Pro before I had to go in to work, so I'll be busy tonight when I get home.
I'm pleased that it installed overtop of the demo and kept my modified pianos in my Favorites section!
Yay, there it is! Substantial enough discount that I'm weighing options.
If my ancient HP67* hasn’t blown a gasket, buying Pro at 20% off, then upgrading to Studio, appears to be US$19.95 cheaper. This would be an extravagance for me, so I’m not too proud to pinch centimes.
Now, if Sweetwater will match Modartt’s price, and offer their usual 0% financing, I'm in for the entire circus. Otherwise I’ll get Pro directly from Modartt and pretend to be satisfied.
… for the moment.

Suggestions Please!
For black friday Pro- what are the best 4 piano's that I should get? I play slow acoustic pop and ballad songs.
K2 Grand Piano
Bösendorfer Concert Grand 280 VC for Pianoteq
Petrof
Steingraeber E-272 concert
Any potential limitations with those above selections?

Absolutely all of the modern pianos are good choices. You cannot go wrong with any of them.
Don't forget you'll also get the Errard and Pleyel and Yamaha CP80 for free in the KIVIR collection.
Personally I would want the new Shigeru model, it's so well balanced. Possibly swap K2 for that?

That is a really good point about the KIVIR collection. I forgot it.
I really like the K2 as its a blend. It will work great with effects.
Thank you so much for replying. I dissapeared due to some life detour. Now Im back with some good material!

K2 still sounds great.
As the only entirely pure modelling grand piano pack (not based on any specific real world equivalent) or we could say it is a fictional piano K2 is great. I hope they don't drop K2 just to have all licensed packs.
I imagine YC5 pack would go first - to be replaced by a licensed Yamaha - Maybe an official CFX and a C5 or C7 for Ptq 9?
Then what of U4 if they don't produce uprights for every licensed brand?
Should Rhodes be licensed too?
Sweetwater have indeed updated their prices to match Modartt’s (truncating to whole dollars). The sale price will last just four days, which I suppose is the duration of Modartt’s Black Friday sale too. 36-month, zero-percent financing is worth a lot more than the savings from buying Pro, then upgrading, sooo…
As that great musician, Homer Simpson, said (possibly stolen from Archie Comics): “Yoink!” This and Steven Slate VSX Platinum headphones will be my early Yule/Chanukkah/Christmas/Kwanzaa/Saturnalia/Festivus presents to myself.
This concludes my “throwing around money I’ve not yet earned” for 2024. Thank you, Modartt.

And that holiday mishmash has got me singing:

Gee, I wonder what ever happened to that Robert Allen Zimmerman kid… he wrote some pretty good songs too.

I love his description of the Spring festival: Floralia-Holi-Easter-Passo-Vernal-Equinox.

Perfect time for a vorpal snicker-snack. Mmm, candy bars!
Happy to say I just upgraded my elderly license (from the older 2 instrument packs with Standard) to Pro and therefore got the option of 2 extra instrument packs
Users with the newer Standard (3 instrument packs) should expect 1 extra pack I believe.

Nice that you get parity, whichever older version you upgrade from. Nobody need feel left out.

I had wondered whether that could get me any better of a discount on the Studio. It doesn't offer me a price to upgrade from the Pro that I just bought to the Studio, when I clicked on the Buy button, it sent me to an "email us" box, I guess for a quote. While curious, I didn't complete the box... yet. LOL!
I did notice that the individual instruments are $39.20 here (US). Even that is tempting with maybe adding the next 5 instruments on the list, which would get me most of the pianos available for a little over $500 including the Pro that I already bought.
And then I tell myself, "Self, you've already got 113 piano variations to play with, do that first."
I bought it! yay! Merry Christmas from my wife!

⁎grin⁎ We have much in common. An embarrassment of riches. Sure beats an embarrassment of scarcity!
