Topic: Feature request - Morph Split

This feature allows the user to gradually morph two instruments together from the left side of the keyboard to the right. With each note the first instrument selection will gradually transform to the second selected instrument by morphing engine parameters the same way a regular morph works.

Related features:
1. Adjust the split point
2. Adjust how fast/ the morph is. Across all notes or only a few. Faster transition.
3. Allow more than 2 instruments.

Use case 1.

I like the low end of Steinway D Hamburg but the high end of Steinway D NY. I split morph the instruments to create the ultimate Steinway piano.

Use case 2.

I like the low end of a Wurlitzer but the hight notes of the Rhodes. I split morph the instruments to create the ultimate electric piano.

Use case 3.

I like felt pianos but I want a thick felt on the high notes but no felt on the low without a hard switch. I split morph a regular preset of a piano with felted preset to create the ultimate felt piano.

Concerns:

It’s too heavy for the CPU??? Maybe you would have to force flatten the morph to increase performance in that case?

Re: Feature request - Morph Split

Yes, this would be great. I suggested basically the same thing quite a while back. One more use case:

When you purposefully push a piano to an unreal extreme, it's quite difficult to change the timbre of the highest notes nearly as much as the mid and lower notes. They they often end up still sounding piano-like. Of course layering a non-piano instrument on top, with a very different high timbre, can help, but it doesn't retain the same clarity as having a single morphed instrument.

Re: Feature request - Morph Split

Funny ...I was thinking about that a month ago or so, after saw people on Pianoworld saying they like the bass of a pianoteq model and the trebble of another, and would buy if they have a model with the best of both.

The pianoteq's manual have a trick to use the volume note edition to try reach this goal by increasing volume of each keyboard's desired range, and reduce the volume of each undesired keyboard range, of each piano model, in a way the average volume of the final morphed model would be about the same. But I'm not sure if work well for morphing or is better for layering.

It would be a good idea to have a fast easier way, on morphing itself instead of volume tricks, and an video showing that, also promoting it, as many people would buy if they found they can get each piece of the best things they like.

Thanks for the replies. I agree with both of you. Hope modartt gives it a concideration.
