Topic: Smilin Billy (Pianoteq)

here's a tune that i don't think i've ever heard played at a gig or a session.  kind of has Killer Joe vibes.  Jimmy wrote many cool tunes, it's a shame they don't get enough love ...

Re: Smilin Billy (Pianoteq)

Thank you budo for this. You are impressive, always. Had to close my eyes when listening and ”feel” it. Love those ”going up” 2,47 - 3,00  and  3,25 - 3,35 and being there.

And the ending - nice 4 chords before the abrupt ending as a surprise - love it!  (sometimes I can't help listening to the last few seconds at the end first...

Maybe someone thinks it's crazy, but when it comes to ”budo music”, there are always interesting endings and special sections in the middle, must analyze the fantastic improvising, piece by piece…

Enjoyed this again. Thank you budo.

Best wishes,

Stig

Wow, great Budo recording! Really great work. I admire the imagination of those who can improvise such engaging music on a small page of a standard. I sincerely confess to you that I am absolutely unable: I am too tied to the written music and the tracks of the great masters of Classical Music.
Really good!
