Wedding Ceremony Music: Wedding March - Felix Mendelssohn

What is the story behind Mendelssohn's Wedding March?

Mendelssohn’s ‘Wedding March’ is taken from music he wrote in 1843 to accompany Shakespeare’s ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
The 'Wedding March' celebrates the marriage of Romeo and Juliet, ‘wedded with Theseus, all with jollity’.

Notice the trumpets in beginning and some places and "ff trumpets" at the end part.

Very good performance Stig of this evergreen of Church music!
In the past I have played it a hundred times for others, but I remember the emotion of when 25 years ago my old teacher played it for me...
Thanks for making me relive that memory.
