Topic: Detune and actual frequencies pannel (to the modartt team)
Hello,
The “note edit” tool features a multitude of pannels for modifying piano parameters for each note.
A “detune” pannel lets you detune each note individually. A straight line defines the starting point, whatever the type of tuning, temperament or octave stretch (even when completely detuned, the line is straight). We know that a piano is never tuned in a linear fashion, taking into account partials, beats etc., basses are tuned lower and trebles higher, and each note is more or less distant from its theoretical frequency.
It would be very interesting to have another pannel that visualizes the actual tuning of the piano, with the deviation of each note from the theoretical frequency of the fundamental, giving a realistic view of the piano's tuning and octave stretching.
Is it possible to have such an evolution in a future version?
Il would be a marvellous tool to understand and learn piano tuning.

A frequencies pannel could look like this with a tuned piano :
