Topic: pianoteq gets killed on linux

Hi,

I am currently evaluating the trial version on two linux-boxes. Both are Debian testing with pipewire as sound-server.

On one machine (a pc) pianotec works fine, however on the other (a Surface Go 2 tablet) pianoteq only works when I select "audio device type alsa".

Trying to use jack results in the pianoteq-process getting killed.

I am not running jack but nowadays pipewire is capable of emulating jack, so what I do is to run pianoteq via "pw-jack" which works on one machine but not on the other.

pw-jack as such seems to work as supercollider works with it without problem.

So what happens is that I run pianoteq via pw-jack, the gui comes up, I select jack as audio device type and then the process gets killed. The only message that appears in the terminal from which I started pianoteq is "Killed".

My question: Is there any way to troubleshoot this?

Many thanks!

Re: pianoteq gets killed on linux

Just a guess, but it might be a configuration problem. Check if pipewire-alsa is installed. When you run Pianoteq (without pw-jack), pipewire media server should be default alsa output. Then you quit and run pw-jack Pianoteq and jack should run under pipewire server.
