Topic: Finding pianoteq preset in ableton after formatting PC

I had to format my laptop and redownload everything from scratch. Now when I open a project in Ableton, the Pianoteq plugin says "VST2 plugin could not be found" and the name of the plugin is "Pianoteq 5 (64-bit)". I went on to find an earlier version and downloaded it. Now when I open the project, it sees Pianoteq 5 but the instrument is always the default piano sound and not recalling what was there before.
Is there a way to have it find the preset that was used before? Is it not recognizing the preset because the version was 5.x something? If so, is there a way to know which exact version was used?

Ableton should have just restored the state of the plugin with whatever preset-based settings (and modifications you might have made) were in place when the Ableton file was last saved; it doesn't actually need to re-load the preset definition. Given that the song/project presumably dates to the Pianoteq 5 era, are you certain it wasn't using the default preset?
