Topic: Departed from Piano Sinfonietta 2

One song of recent collection called Piano Sinfonietta 2.

Beautiful! More orchestral music. Good. This could be intro music in a film or ending music, with text actors  in the film etc.

Listened again and thought what a great experiment it would be, if you could get a score over the music and ask a symphony orchestra to play this with a grand piano, french horn, oboe, flute etc.  Could be a success!

Well that’s what I think about it this time.  Enjoyed it. Well done ken.

Best wishes,

Stig

p.s. And good dynamics in some sections.

really beautiful!  i agree, it could be a soundtrack.  is this also algorithmically done?  i can't believe it is, it sounds too good my experiments with computer generated music don't sound like this at all ...

Hi Stig, thank you as always for your encouragement for me and really everyone here, you are a gem!  I have in the past converted some of my piano creations to sheet music, but looking at it I worried that it was not realistically playable, I fear the same there here. While I do try to be realistic in the choices to help make the music relatable and believable I fear it wouldn't always be. As far as a full score, I don't have those kind of connections or associations to approach such an idea. However, this is slow placed mostly and actually might be close to realistic.  I am really happy you enjoyed this!

Hi budo, thank you for having a listen and your comments! Yes this is all algorithmically done with my software, no manual edits.  That's not to say it's easy as I have been tweaking this software for around 3 years as I learn more about music and listening and I can't say it's highly versatile but I hope it captures something of what I would manually write. Also it's a very interactive process to get a certain style or sound, meaning I listen, adjust, listen, adjust, repeat. So it's not something someone else would really be able to pickup off the shelf (or download) and easily use. It was never my goal to make this a product that would be sold or used by others. Helps to have good instruments I think also.

For fun here are a couple quite different rock styles I have created with my software:

There is no Pianoteq in these so I don't share them here and actually haven't done any of the harder rock albums in a couple of years perhaps.

Enjoy!
