Topic: Could not start audio engine: Unanticipated host error

Hi,

I'm trying to run Pianoteq 2.3 on a Lenovo thinkcentre m710q running windows 11 Pro with an i5-7400t CPU

All windows / drivers / BIOS are updated

I get this pop up error window

“Could not start audio engine: Unanticipated host error”

Same error with Run as Administrator (also with compatibility set to win7 & XP too)

Audio is via Realtek High Definition Audio

I removed Waves Maax audio app from Realtek.

I installed the Pianoteq 8 demo and that works ok

Windows troubleshooting didn’t find any problems with the audio

Pianoteq 2.3 worked perfectly on my previous windows 10 64 bit pro computer and the windows 7 32 Home machine before that and the windows XP machine I had before that.

Just hoping someone can help me?

Thanks
Chris

Re: Could not start audio engine: Unanticipated host error

Just an update after contacting very helpful Modarrt support.
After experimenting with sample rates/drivers, it's working again now )
Amazing piece of software to still work on windows 11 architecture, when written for windows XP
