Topic: Pianoteq does not remember my favourites.

Hello, can anyone help me?
I use Pianoteq 8 as VST2 in Reaper. I mark my favourites with the yellow stars. Then I save the project.  But after restarting Reaper, the favourites are gone. Where can I save them? Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Till,
Pianoteq based projects save okay here in Windows 10 and 11.

Which operating system?

Another thing you can do is save project templates. With project templates you can apply different FX plugins from outside Pianoteq and save those combinations to drop into any other project.

Re: Pianoteq does not remember my favourites.

Clues seem to be VST 2 (not 3) and Reaper.

Tested that it works in Studio One with Pianoteq VST 3.

I'd, if you can, figure out why you're using VST2 and not VST3 Pianoteq plugin... but after than, it may come down to something to do with the way Reaper works.. not sure of a workaround - but at least confirm it's not a prob in VST3 in a different DAW..

Maybe other Reaper users might be able to help more. Check settings in Reaper (I remember noting that it has a couple of 'veiws', like listing VST controls in plain scollable form - so IDK if something to do with that might be interrupting normal view, at least for VST2 plugins??)

Well spotted Qexl.
I only load up the CLAP or VST3 versions of plugins these days. To me it's pointless using the old VSTi format unless bumping into some rare problem (which is rare these days).
Ironically enough the problems used to be in saving presets in projects in the early days of VST3.

Maybe Till should try the VST3 version - operating system allowing.

Re: Pianoteq does not remember my favourites.

Thanks to all of you.
I use VST2 because I send program change commands to Pianoteq via the Elgato Streamdeck. This does not work with VST3. According to Moddart support "Program Change messages do not work with VST3 due to the restrictions of the VST3 plugin format."
My workaround, which I have now found thanks to your tips: I load the VST3 plugin to set the favourites. Pianoteq then also remembers it for the vst2 plugin.
