Topic: Hammond B3 Anyone?
I hope I'm not alone one this one.
I hope I'm not alone one this one.
It would pretty much complete the instrument set for live gigging for many keyboard players who wish to use PTQ exclusively, and I could see a use case for a B3 layered with pno, ep, or Vibraphone.
Organteq is designed for physical modelling of pipe organs. A Hammond organ is totally different technology.
Likewise Pianoteq is designed to replicate struck or plucked objects or strings.
Emulating an entirely electric Hammond that was as faithful as existing models out there would require significant efforts into a third engine; alternative physically modeled Hammond organs already exist from other software companies. Cost benefit analysis - the amount of people who would be interested in buying that (when they've got several alternatives already) might be too small.
I think quite a few folks were disappointed that Organteq was just acoustic Church organs. Then again the electric organs would just be entering a saturated market. UAD for instance were recently selling one in their sales for about the price of a Pianoteq instrument pack.
Do you find the Suzuki Hammond licensed version by IK Multimedia to be unsatisfactory?
