Topic: New guitars?

I am always listening to the demos of the classical guitar and I am blown away by the authenticity of the sound.

I've been wondering recently if there is any plans to add a nice electric jazz guitar? The steel strings would obviously be needed for this one, but since the guitar has basically already been modeled, would substituting nylon strings for steel ones present any major challenge to the modeling of the hollowbody electric jazz guitar (or hollowbody blues or a vintage 60s Gretsch hollowbody)?

A basic Stratocaster and Les Paul would be wonderful too, but an electric hollowbody blues/jazz would be one very welcome addition. I'd be more than buy it in a separate add-on. Steel string acoustics, and hollowbody/solidbody would be great, and I'd imagine all would be achievable in those additional instruments. We've already got the nylon acoustic covered. Just the steel string acoustic, solid and hollowbody electric guitars would add amazing options for those who want to use these in their music.

Nothing like some warm blues piano with a jazz hollowbody.

Hi Benjamind,

There is already an electric jazz guitar. I have recorded over 30 pieces with guitar but never tested the electric jazz. Have to give it a try. Of course Modartt always are working with the instruments and giving us surprises, so with the guitars too.

Best wishes,

Stig

Re: New guitars?

Hi again Benjamind

Here is a short example of Electric jazz guitar. I didn't have time to change and adjust the sound, just changed more impedance in a hurry, I'm sure the guitar sounds are processed all the time, as well as the piano sounds. Just waiting

Re: New guitars?

With all due respect, fellows ... there is currently not a really true jazz guitar preset in the Modartt group YET ... but just give them time.  If you younger dudes want to learn of the finest jazz guitar players you might give a listen to some the world's finest recorded during the late 1950s-1970s such as Barry Gailbrath, Tal Farlow, Johnny Smith.  The most beautiful electric jazz guitar voicings were typically from their guitars such as a Gibson L5, or an early Epiphone (from the early Chicago Musical Instrument Company).

Please be nice ... I am only 81, HA!!

Yes I know, you are right, there is currently not a really true jazz guitar preset yet. But I know they are working especially with the jazz guitar, we all know Modart are always working, Pianoteq/Organteq is their life.
I am sure a ”real” one is coming in the future, maybe in a not so distant future.

As interesting and fun as it is for me to experiment with Ptq/Orgtq every day, it is just as interesting for them, or let me say,  It is for them probably always a pleasure to deal with their modelling challenges either on a scientific or a sound design perspective.

I love Ptq and Orgtq and think they are starting to be my life too, at least part of every day, with 580 videos in forum/youtube, for the moment, growing.

And, a bit as Lanny    Please be nice……I am only a few years from 81, HA!!

Best wishes,

Stig

Edit.   For those interested, I have a post in Recordings named  All my Guitar pieces in one place, 37 pieces so far, growing. Feel free to give comments there if you can find one that you like    Thanks in advance.
