Topic: Serenity: Piano, bass, drums

Sorry that I have been mostly silent here for the last month...life.

Something new and slightly different. Couple of songs from album. Bass is no longer Pianoteq guitar but instead Modo Bass for a more traditional bass sound. Piano is Bechstein Rec 2.

Oddly there was 0 listens on every song after 24 hours on youtube. Usually that is when most listens would occur. At the mercy of youtube deciding to recommend to listeners or not (as in this case).    Good that I do this for fun only.

Enjoy!

Hi ken, nice to have you back again,

I agree that bass is a little better. Is Bechstein the preset as it is or did you modify/change it ? I can’t get my to sound like yours. Maybe it is my/your reverb….
For some reason I like the first one a bit more, but they are quite similar.

btw, oddy no listens…   Yes, I have kind of same experiences. First, in forum can be many listens and in yt not or vice versa. And once I had 1323 listens here but only 175 on yt   !  As you said, at the mercy of youtbe…

Best wishes,

Stig

Hi Stig, thanks for the feedback! Bechstein preset is Recording 2 with just a minor mod on the velocity curve to lower the max to 110 instead of 127. Aside from that the midi velocity is at a very low level. Lastly there is external reverb on my master track.

True, as usually with my albums the songs are often similar.

Thanks too for the welcome back!

Ken

Re: Serenity: Piano, bass, drums

i enjoyed these two tracks a lot.  i like the space in the recordings. i do think "Serenity" is an apt name for this album!

Re: Serenity: Piano, bass, drums

Thanks Budo! I'm glad to hear you like them and thank you for the feedback, it's encouraging!

Re: Serenity: Piano, bass, drums

Hey there Ken

I enjoyed these two tracks, although I liked "Celestial Calm" a bit more than "Tranquil Tides". They're nice to listen to at the end of a long, hard day when you're trying to unwind

Keep well..

Thanks for having a listen and feedback MuddyDog!  Glad to hear you like them. Yeah I put these together at the end of my day (late evening) sometimes dozing off when I am reviewing
