Topic: Organteq v2

As a user of both Organteq and Pianoteq, I have a feeling that Organteq has been put aside while seeing the new version released in Pianoteq and its availability on iPad. For Organteq, it has been a very long time since the last version update. We are all waiting for the new version release, but not any news from Modartt. Any news or roadmap for the development of Organteq? Or it has no more update will be released?

Hello ericwongmusic,

Organteq offers over a thousand pipes. I think it  is not easy to make changes fast. I’m sure an update is coming sooner or later.

Since 12.4 2019 there have been 13 updates/changes. As far as I know, been on board since 2013, Modartt is wotking hard all the time. Now probably with Guitar, Pianoteq and Organteq. We have to wait and enjoy what we already have got so far. Wonderful products  that are constantly being developed.

Best wishes,

Stig

Re: Organteq v2

I just got Pianoteq and Organteq V2 and was surprised to find out that there is NOT an IPAD version of Organteq for IOS.  Do you know if there is one in the works.  The Pianoteq Stage Apps works great on my IPAD, but it would be great if I can also have OrganTeq on there as well.

In order to create / port a version of organteq 2 for the ipad, we have to consider a number of things. Firstly, the audio engine used in iOS is different to that of MacOS, MacOS can support multi-channel complex audio systems, at present, iOS can't and I'm not sure if that will be addressed, the only way to do that is submit feedback constantly to apple's iOS / iPad OS development areas and push for multi-channel audio support for larger audio interfaces, as at present you'd be lucky if you could get a 4 channel to behave, it doesn't, just crashes and that is iOS's fault.

Processing power for the iPad is limited compared to that of a desktop, unless you're using an ipad pro like myself for development and instrument use. Organteq would need specific GUI reworking to make it a usable instrument, but if you think of a 3 manual + pedal division console running a maximum 50 stops at full tutti then there's a bit of processing involved.

I admit that I'd love to witness this happen and would give anything for it to do so, but organteq 2 for MacOS is just something else, a real game changer for me and a joy to have been involved in, etc.
