Topic: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Tuning: "Vallotti & Young Scale, A=432"
Preset used: all Pianoteq modern pianos

Re: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Sounds really nice ! I was puzzled when seeing the tuning, but it's a nice surprise. You can compete with budo.

Re: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

This is wonderful playing! I like your version of this nice melody. Thank you k c Paul.

But, It sounds, to me, like something is wrong in the lower notes, bass…
They don’t sound as or not as clear as normal, it sounds  unclear, a bit messy  in low places, left hand. Listening many times from beginning and one minute I experience it every time - thought my ears have something wrong……cannot distinguish the notes in the chords.

I think it can have something to do with "Vallotti & Young Scale, A=432”. Maybe it is not good for the low tone modern chords in this piece. I had a piece with ”modern” chords and didn’t sound good with Valotti.

Anyway, you could try with equal temperament and 440. But, this is only my personal thinking.

But your playing is marvellous. Thank you k c Paul

Best wishes,

Stig

I think you are right, I have changed to equal / 440 now. See how you will feel this one?

Re: Somewhere Over the Rainbow

Thank you k c Paul for your change/try. It didn't change the feeling of having a piano that is a bit out of tune in left hand, lower tones. But the melody sound is better in the first version. Maybe you have something wrong with using all pianos together?

You have so many many pieces with nice and very good sound. This is the first time I feel something is not that it should be....
But, anyway, again, your playing is fantastic!
It would be nice if more people could give comment on this, maybe I am the only one with this feeling...But I know that most people are in a hurry and just listen but don't give time to comment, which is sad...

Best wishes,

Stig

I like the first version more.
The second version brings out more bass lines because it's "out of tune".
The lower notes are a bit messy too, I also have that feeling.
Reason why? Maybe, it is the arrangement of notes.

This is the third version, using YC5 as the bass line.
See if you can hear any difference in it.
I think YC5 is better for pop music, I haven't used YC5 in earlier versions.

I can hear a difference, melody in first vers is better and here it is like too much reverb in bass, but bass is a little little better, not so mussy as in first version. All in all not so good as your pieces are usual. Thanks for testing different versions,
