Topic: Pedal catching previous note using Musescore

I'm using Pianoteq for Musescore playback and I'm running into a problem with pedaling: if there is a note playing right before the pedal is held, that note will be caught by the pedal. Is there a way to avoid this through a Pianoteq setting by any chance?

Re: Pedal catching previous note using Musescore

I'm wondering if that might be due to the placement of the pedal symbol in MuseScore - try moving it to the right a little bit.

The same behaviour seems to happen with  the default instrument . At first glance it looks to me like a bug in MuseScore as in normal playing the pedal wouldn’t catch the decay of the previous note unless you pedal very quickly ( re-pedalling technique ) . I’m not sure moving the pedal marking actually does anything a part cosmetics on the score ( I might be wrong but the anchor point of the pedal mark doesn’t move when you move the marking) . The only possible workaround if this is indeed a bug is to put a loure marking ( mezzo stacatto ) on the previous note or use angled pedal markings but it’s not fully satisfying.

It seems to work in version 4.02.
