Topic: Why has the toggle on/off removed?

Just wondering, one for the Pianoteq devs, why was the record button toggle on/off removed?

I got used to until v8 when it no longer works and you have to explicitly press the stop button to record..I know it's a small thing but old habits and all..any ideas?

Re: Why has the toggle on/off removed?

Yes, that would be good if possible.

I like the "*" key (on numpad) to start recording, but to stop recording, reaching for the qwerty alphanumeric "0" (zero) is problematic in terms of focus.

The numpad 0 (zero) does not function as stop by default..

Fortunately, for the numpad 0 to work (my choice, because the thumb easily gets there), we can just go to options/general and quickly edit keyboard shortcuts.

That's my workaround anyway, which I can live with.

There may be some good engineering reason to have removed 'toggle record on/off'?? but if not, I'd def. be happy for that behavior to return. (I had tried to map * also to 'stop MIDI' but that gives "currently assigned to 'record midi'")

Thanks Jamie, good spotting!

Appreciate the workaround using the keyboard shortcut (I have to admit I totally forgot about those). At least it stops me fumbling around with the mouse.
