Topic: Small size Amp to connect DAC to passive Speakers

Hello everyone.
It’s been now 6 months since I discovered this wonderful world of Pianoteq, and I’m enjoying it more and more each day!
I have an old notebook connected to my piano, and recently bought a Focusrite Solo DAC, that made a good improvement to the sound quality.
Today I only use pianoteq through headphones, but although this would still be my main option, I want also to be able to listen through speakers. Unfortunately there is no way to send the sound back to my piano with any decent quality (an old Yamaha CLP-240) so I planning to get an audio monitor in the near future.
However, I have an Onkyo 7.1 HT that I use only on a 5.1 setup (due to my room layout), and I have a pair of passive speakers from the HT that I’m not using. So I was wondering if anyone has suggestions to decent amps, small in size, that I could connect to the DAC to be able produce any sound on the speakers. I tested my piano connected to the HT and I liked the quality of the sound, however HT speakers and the Piano positions do not match, so this is not an option.

You're likely to get a hundred different answers without specifying your price range and more info on the speakers you plan to drive. For instance, are they demanding floor standings or small bookshelf types? Find their sensitivity (in dB), that gives an idea of how powerful your amp needs to be.

I'm looking at some audio setup for Pianoteq as well but I'm leaning towards active speakers. It seems nowadays you get the best sound for the buck with active, which wasn't the case just 5 or 8 years ago. Their integrated class D amps have finally come of age.

Also, wireless speakers are out of the equation with digital keyboards. The latency (delay) is just too high. I simply can't play with any bluetooth speakers.

I had the exact same question a few months ago. My long search for the best small and cheap amp led me to the LOXJIE A30.
For this price and size, it has the lowest S/N ratio, lowest distortion and highest power rating.
