Topic: volume very low on one key

I recently noticed that the volume on one key, d#3, is barely audible.  It's the same on all presets. How can I fix this?

I've never experienced this nor have I heard of anyone else doing so.
And since it's the same on all presets, the problem must reside with your controller, meaning that it is not sending velocity data correctly.

Have a look in the Pianoteq menu at the reported MIDI velocity data figures for that specific key.

It's probably a mechanical issue with your keyboard. This problem can be masked in many virtual instruments like many synth sounds because they lack much in the way of velocity response or velocity layers.

In case it's not the reported velocity of the key: Do you use loudspeakers? Could you try it with headphones if the problem is there as well?

There is also a problem of "room modes", where the size and acoustic of your room can lead to some frequencies beeing greatly amplified or cancelled out. In my case it was even in the 10-15db range for some frequencies.

What keyboard/controller are you using?
