Topic: 1st Concerto with digital piano (Pianoteq) and Orchestra - Première

This home made video is the first concerto performed with a digital piano and orchestra realized in Brazil on November 10th, 2022. Besides the problems I had with the mics and cameras we can have an idea how this new technology can helps us to make a piano concerto without a real piano.

It is not always easy to have a good piano on theater, to rent a good one or to transport a piano. Because of these problems Álvaro (conductor of the orchestra) and I decided to make this concerto.

I believe we can reach much more people that maybe or never could listen this type of concert. This humble realization can show us that this type of structure can be realized with a lower cost, easier procedure and etc.

My wish is that much more people would do the same and bring good music for much more people. I think that art is one of the best way to drive the world for a better place to live.

I hope you guys enjoy and would be so helpful if you can leave any comment on my youtube channel to propagate how great Pianoteq can be used and to spread to as many people as possible, especially encourage more artists to spread good music to more people.

I am not a professional any more,  I had bad and good moments in the concert. It is about 18 years far way from stage because I change my way of life (running a hotel today). I was so stupid to put my amplifier in front my only good mic, so I need to use the camera's mic. But I think you can have an idea how well Pianoteq mixed with an orchestra.

I thank you all of you in advanced.

Fulvio

I used an old amplifier made from a brazilian company called meteoro. It is supposed to be 500 watts (rms) amplifier and full range (6 speakers with 6' and a sub of 12 or 15' - not sure), but I am not sure if this is really real. The sound in the teather was very nice, unfortunatelly I had a problem with my profissional mic and I need to use the mics from the cameras.

What Pianoteq version/model was used? And what keyboard make/model was played?

Hi Larry,

I am just finishing my very short documentary just to explain your question. Many people are asking me about the same.

I used a version of pianoteq stage 7.5.4 and I chose Blüthner Model 1. About the keyboard it was a very simple one, Casio privia px-160 because of the Weight, triple sensor, kind of cheap and very easy to transport. Since I am using pianoteq I really do not care about the keyboard sound (which is not that good anyway).

Best regards,

Fulvio

So good to see this Beco, thank you - and congratulations.

It's really quite an interesting achievement which sets a benchmark.

Ps: eu vou traduzir nossa conversa aqui, pois ninguém vai entender nada.

Congratulations on your initiative, Fulvio.

In Brazil there are even countless difficulties.

Plenty of money only exists for "asses" rebolando, sertanejo or submusic with vulgar low-level lyrics.

Thank you very much Beto and you are absolutely right, we have a lot of rubbish going around here.

I already answered your email and let's talk.

A big hug.

Ps: I'm going to translate our conversation here, because no one will understand anything.

Amazing work, Beco. Shows how good Pianoteq is, that it can replace a concert grand in a live setup. The Casios are fine as MIDI controllers, I have Casio PX-5S myself.

Thank you very much Theodor. I agree with you, we really can replace a concert grand (I would go beyond, Pianoteq in a hand of a good composer could do things that would be impossible for concert grand to do in a live concert) easily and I know we have great and expensive digital piano, however Casio pianos are good, price, lightweight and a very nice controller as well.

Best regards,

I will post here a very short documentary about the 1st Concerto with digital piano and Orchestra as I promised.

Many people still asking about the setup and the hardware I used in this concert. I hope this can help.
