Topic: Compact interface of vst

Hi. I'm using Pianoteq 8 Stage.
Is there any way to use compact interface in VST plugin?

Standalone app has window > use compact interface menu and is able to switch its interface.
But VST version has no window menu.

Thanks!

on the upper right part of the VST window click on Options/General/Interface magnification and select the desired interface

Thanks for your reply, but what I need is "use compact interface" menu.
Not the interface magnification settings.
Their functions are not the same...

Magnification settings are proposed and indeed there are different but there is also a compact interface option in the magnification tab   . If you are not talking about this compact interface option , then I don’t understand what you are referring to .

Maybe you haven't seen the "use compact interface" menu.
You can see the menu of the standalone pianoteq 8 here.

It hides the concert hall image picture and provides literally the compact interface.

Re: Compact interface of vst

You're right karasunouta, the window menu does not appear in plugin mode, just opened it in Reaper. Which obviously means, you can't switch to compact interface from within the DAW plugin. Unless there is something I (or we) are missing.

May I ask, what do you need the window menu for, when you're using the Pianoteq plugin, assumably within a DAW? All the options under Edit are also in the button row.

It's only the Save To or Export that are under File that are missing, but don't people usually export as audio or even MIDI from the DAW? I'm not saying you don't need the options from the File menu, just curious what it is there, that you need access to, when using Pianoteq in a DAW.

So we are talking about the same thing , here is as snapshot on logic pro , with the magnification tab under general options https://drive.google.com/file/d/1NyGxfg...share_link
As you can see it also includes an option that selects the compact view

That's exactly I've seeked!
But it's weird that my Pianoteq 8 Stage (v8.0.2)'s the same menu displays "giant (250%)" at the end of the list, no "Compact view" line.
Do you have some idea what causes this difference among us?
My DAW is Cakewalk, just in case.

Thank you!

I've just heard in joannchr's Logic the "Compact view" is shown in the last of the magnification select menu.
What about this in your Reaper environment? Maybe this phenomenon is related with the kind of DAWs.

And, thanks for some suggentions.
I rather love simple GUI, and thought as there's a usable option in Standalone app it could be used in the VST too so I asked here.
Just a tiny pickiness

I only use Logic and pro tools so coannot comment on catewalk and reaper , so maybe after all this should be reported to Pianoteq support as it might be possibly a bug . I guess it is an impossible to test a VST again all flavours of DAWs

Re: Compact interface of vst

OK so you were after the Compact view option from inside Options -> General, which is indeed accessible from the DAW / plugin as joannchr just showed you. I thought you wanted some of the top menu options, but glad you've sorted it out.

I can also choose Compact view from within Reaper, but that doesn't make the top menu appear. It just hides more options, but I'm not trying to get access to the top menu from Reaper, so that's fine by me.

If I'm going to use Pianoteq plugin in Reaper, i will want the full interface, or as full as it gets, without the top menu, which I won't need, as I've said.

Re: Compact interface of vst

I've almost understood the situation so just contacted the support.
Thank you for your advices. Very helpful!

Re: Compact interface of vst

I use Cakewalk by BandLab and Cubase 12 with PTQ8 Pro, VST3 on Win10.
Compact mode is shown in both DAWs.

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

Seems to be quite the same environment.
Thanks! I told about this topic to Modarrt support so they'll see your reply too.
I'll keep waiting for their response.

Re: Compact interface of vst

I've got a response from the support.
This is a known issue and would be fixed on future update, they said.
Thank you all!
