Topic: Massive delay and noise in multi-tasking mode

I'm trying to run Pianoteq 8 with forScore in multi-tasking mode on my iPad Pro M4.  This was working for me just fine with background audio enabled (turns off after 1 hour).  Pianoteq 8 is working by itself, but suddenly, today, it no longer works at the same time as forScore.  There is massive delay and only noise issues from the app.

Doesn't matter if I start forScore first or Pianoteq first or if I turn off background audio.  I've also tried restarting the iPad and turning off and back on all devices, including the powered USB-C hub.  One thing I haven't tried is uninstalling McAfee app.  Running forScore and AUM in multi-tasking mode, with the Pianoteq audio unit extension works OK.

Any ideas how to fix the Pianoteq with forScore multi-tasking problem.?  Anyone else had this problem?   Anyone else had to uninstall McAfee app?

UPDATE:  I uninstalled the McAfee app and rebooted the iPad.  No improvement.

I run forScore and Pianoteq on my iPad Pro M2. It generally works without issues for me.
forScore can actually intercept your midi input and try to play its own sounds, which might end up conflicting with Pianoteq. You might want to make sure midi input is disabled in forScore. (Settings -> Midi)

Thank you. I now have it working again.  Your intuition as to the cause of the problem was accurate.  But instead of turning MIDI off in forScore, I turned off “Send commands” and “Synthesizer”.  I left “Receive shortcuts” on so that I can use some MIDI commands to turn pages.

Why it worked previously, I don’t know.  Why it previously worked with Pianoteq audio extension in AUM, not really clear to me either — but seemed MIDI-related.

I'm glad that worked. I suspect it was an app update, that either added the feature or changed the default setting.
