Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

Greetings!

Here is "Annabelle's Lullaby," my entry into Modartt's Pianoteq Video Contest 2021. "Annabelle's Lullaby" features the Bechstein piano and Celtic Harp from the Standard version of Pianoteq 7 by Modartt.

"Annabelle's Lullaby" is part of my 'Suite Innocence' collection of piano pieces composed for my grand nieces and nephews. This is the sixth piece in the collection, dedicated to Annabelle Catherine, and presented here with small instrumental accompaniment.

*Piano VST : Modartt Pianoteq 7 Pro Petrof Mistral

I guess this song is one of the legendary Christmas songs. Rearranged and played with smooth jazz style. Pianoteq 7's Petrof Mistral has a crystal clear tone which I want. Hope you try this piano VST too when you have a chance.

Please enjoy the Christmas season by listening to my Christmas songs.

Hello, I've been a happy user since last year when P7 released.
Now and then I practice and record through the software.
Playing the VST as a standalone mode is so flawless, but I want to develop my skill and use as a plug-in mode with DAW later.
This piece I published for the contest is my own composition and its working title is 'Evening Bright'.
Hope you enjoy the music.
Thank you, Modartt and fellow users!

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

There are some really impressive entries appearing this year! It's great to see quite a number of new people taking part - a warm welcome to all.
Well, the piece I had originally planned just wasn't going to be ready in time. So I came up with another spooky improv piece, this time for solo piano (1835 Pleyel). It uses a custom 'found' tuning which I introduced in my 2019 competition entry, The Pianoteq Egg Slicer Project. I added a 'cosmic' delay to the Pleyel (the settings were borrowed from one of the modern pianos). The sound is 100% pure Pianoteq, with no additional processing.
The visuals for the main part of the video were generated with some free software called Pianofall. It's quite old, I think, but a lot of fun.
The Haunted Music Room: mists and ghostly whisperings. A little waltz tune gradually emerges, then fades away into the gloom...

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

Hi all Pianoteq users and audience,

It is today that I finished my video for the Pianoteq Video Contest 2021.
What I could do with Pianoteq 7? Well, I thought first playing one of my songs... but during the making I changed it to make a video to promote Pianoteq 7 instead.

So watch the video and be convinced. It is a great instrument even for the piano beginner who want to play or learn piano with the sound of the real great ones.

Enjoy my video by using the following link:

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

Looks like this year it's gonna be a tough one! I'm glad to see so many participants

My entry is a quickly improvised version of "fly me to the moon", I was hesitating whether to upload it or not since I wasn't entirely convinced of the global result but hey no time for a new video so there we go..

I've used a blend of both Bechstein and Blüthner pianos, just messing around with the amazing morfing feature, some EQ has been applied too.

Hope you like it!

Warm regards,

Hello everyone !

My name is Andrei Demidenko and I am professionally trained pianist from Russia/Moscow. I am very happy to be a proud owner and active user of Pianoteq. No need to describe further here but I still can't find the borders of sound possibilities in Pianoteq. Use it both in computer and in zynthian - best portable way to take Pianoteq with you anywhere.

Being not just a pianist, but also professional piano technician, I can value Pianoteq even more.

This piece was composed, performed and filmed by me. It was recorded in one take (no MIDI or audio editing) using HB Steinway D Felt1 preset, tweaked for my needs. These "Felt" presets coming to us from version 7 are awesome, specially blended or morphed with some other presets or instruments. Absolutely unique !

Pleasure to be among you !

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

I am not yet a Pianoteq owner but have recently downloaded the demo.  It sounds fantastic and is just inspirational to play.

Here's an attempt at using a few of the presets and 5 instances of Pianoteq - no other instruments. I found it difficult to select a piano - they are all great - but liked the warmth of the Steingraeber.

This is a quick arrangement of Summer Time with some improvisation. I haven't done anything with the presets except turned off the reverb for a couple and tweaked the Steel Drums so you could hear the mallet to act a bit like a snare).

It's a rushed recording job to get things down before the demo locks up - I played each part straight in (but must confess to quantising the 'drums' and the clavinet a little).

I hope you enjoy.

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

Here is my entry. It's my first time trying something like this, but I'm reasonably happy with how it came out!

I wanted to explore the non-piano side of Pianoteq - using the model manipulation tools, morphing, and so on to make distinctly unreal yet still organic and interesting sounds. All sounds in this song other than the percussion are straight out of Pianoteq, with very little additional effects in the DAW - no reverb anywhere, just the natural resonance and sustain of the Pianoteq models.

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

I used the J.B. Streicher sound, although I doubt there has ever been a Streicher player piano, but I thought it was a good basis for building a kind of historical player piano sound.

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

Here's a piano performance of the Mandalorian Theme, arrangement by AtinPiano. Performed by my son, Jackson.

https://youtu.be/Hen7SGBCfLE

Arrangement for piano by AtinPiano. Original composition by Ludwig Goransson. Sound from Pianoteq Stage 7 with the Ant. Petrof piano, played on a Yamaha YDP-C71PE digital piano.

We love is how Pianoteq has upgraded the sound and feel of an older instrument. I initially played with the demo last year and was blown away how it added nuance, depth, and subtlety to piano performances. So we went for it and picked up Pianoteq Stage with the Petrof and Steinway B packs. It brought new life to our existing DP.
Playing live with Pianoteq just feels better than the built-in tones, and applying it to recorded midi tracks gives us a lot of flexibility later on.

Bonus guest appearance from our cat, Whitey! We hope you enjoy it! Thanks for watching!

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

Here's my entry for 2021. I should have recorded internally and I made some mistakes but I like the visual.

Also, to be clear, the music and words were written by Don McLean, not me of course. Arrangement by Geoff Cottrell.

Warmest regards

Re: PIANOTEQ VIDEO CONTEST 2021 - ENTRIES

Giorgio Moroder, one of the greatest composers of our time, won the oscar for the best original score in 1978, for the film "Midnight Express" (directed by Alan Parker). As I watched the movie once again last week, I thought that a Tribute for this outstanding film is needed, even in our days. I used the C. BECHSTEIN DG because of it's powerful but also bright bass. The preset is the "sweet" but I adjusted the tune to 415 for a more sad result. I hope that you'll enjoy the video with my scene selection of the film and my playing.

Hello everyone !

Here is my participation, I've hesitated a lot to make my own arrangment to spirited away by Joe Hisaishi by lack of time :S
So the arrangement will be for later and here is the version with the piano solo :

I saw only people using basic piano on Pianoteq so I hope I will not be eliminated to use my favorite piano C.Bechstein

Have a good day everyone and MAY THE BEST WIN !

I wrote and just finished production of this piece in time for this contest, featuring 3 instances of Pianoteq: Main comping piano (Steinway D), high register accents (K2 Piano model), and low bass register (Erard model).

I hope you enjoy this German pop ballad in a somewhat jazzy style.

In this DAW Cast in MOTU's Digital Performer 11 I show some plug-ins used.
