Re: Linux version now available

I have Pianoteq up and running on Kubuntu Karmic alpha 2 - There is a good working realtime kernel for this version based on 2.6.29 (and a lot of stuff that bleeds).

I have jack running at 32 frames x 3 periods @ 48k and it seems stable.
Anyways big thanks to the devs for great port.

Re: Linux version now available

shouldn't you use 64 frames ? I believe pianoteq would prefer 64 frame buffers according to the README file.

Re: Linux version now available

Another Linux flavour for the list:

I use Slackware 12.2 with a home-rolled real-time kernel (2.6.29)
I just installed the full version after a couple of weeks of the trial version.

I've been using Sampletekk samples and LinuxSampler up to now.  The
comparison with Sampletekk's Black Grand and C3 is interesting.

I'm only getting 11.6 ms latency - I could probably improve that with some
tinkering, but it sounds fine to me

Re: Linux version now available

I just installed Linux Pianoteq version 3.05.
The new Y... rock piano add-ons are nice. But for the Linux user also the new commandline options are really interesting. But: poorly documented, at least I could not find a description in the PDF manual or in the README_LINUX.txt.
The best help I could get was by running "./Pianoteq30 --help" on the commandline. This shows me how to use pianoteq without a gui, or for example as a commandline MIDI to WAV convertor. Interesting and useful!

Hello PIANOTEQ People

For French and Mandriva linux users, i just point some ressources :

French People could find help here :
-> http://wiki.mandriva.com/fr/ProAudio
http://wiki.mandriva.com/fr/Temps_R%C3%A9el

On linux-mao too ... http://www.linuxmao.org/tikiwiki/tiki-i...e=Mandriva (old page at http://www.linuxmao.org/tikiwiki/tiki-i...age=Oldmdv )

Last, french people could discut about PIANOTEQ on Mandriva Forum. ( http://forum.mandriva.com/viewtopic.php?t=114750 for example, or create new topic).

I am user of (massive) RedHat at works, Fedora on laptop, and Mandriva for stable personnal workstation. I recommand Mandriva for all new linux people !

Best regards

Re: Linux version now available

Hi everyone,
This is my first post. I was happily surprised to learn about the Linux version of Pianoteq. I use Ubuntu Linux amd64 exclusively. I just downloaded the demo and it works like a charm on my AMD dual core (4yrs old) PC!!!

I just learned about the new Pianoteq Play. This is great to have a more affordable version. I was just wondering if there will be a Linux version for that as well. I was thinking of buying the boxed version from one of the online retailers here in the USA and thought I'd double check if the boxed version will  have Linux support.

Thanks again Modratt for this AMAZING piece of software.

Re: Linux version now available

Hi Julien,

I'd like to have a status about the linux VST port. As a linux Renoise user I'm totally for it (it'd definitely make me purchase that wonderful piece of software).

Any release data?

Thanks
Nil

Re: Linux version now available

Hi, we're still thinking of it but I don't have anything to announce unfortunately.
