Too tempting a distraction huh? Absolutely!
The clue is in the name I suppose!
As the good book didn't say "Get thee behind me Synful plugin!"

I suppose we can all salute your dedication. Oh No! Don't do that: I'm over 60, fat and lazy!

It's always there to install again when you want to add/learn some wind, brass and strings arrangement. True!

As I said before, "Thanks for sharing the link and info..."

Heh heh, none of us are perfect.

If you are still trying to learn new things at 60 that's not so lazy.

Cubase, for some bizarre reason doesn't allow for curved tempo curves - you can have straight ramps and steps - no parametric curves!

Well, there's always a way... The exported tempo map reveals an xml object and this can be created using MS Excel...

Delving into DAWs has been fun...

It's a useful tool as demonstrated by so many here - thanks for all your input and encouragement.

My 2.5 cents:

Custom FX
Easy instrument switching
Layering
Quick A/B-ing of sounds
Playalong tracks (midi/audio)
Easy recording of performances
Easy panning of audio tracks for multiple instances (layers)

I use Ableton to play PT8 usually two with different EQ profiles for left and right.

For those starting out using a DAW - there's a lot of good information in this thread, particularly from Qexl that you may find inspiring!
