one of the nice thing with physical modelling synthesis, or synthesis in general, is that you can have a totally dry signal and give it the reverb/room that you want.
and not have to deal with the room ambience that might be 'baked' into a sample.

I think the reverb in version 8 is a bit too harsh but that might be only my opinion

I will have to experiment more myself.

Apart from deliberately going for an effects reverb to deliver an intentionally artificial (if pleasing) result I would suggest the main reason people use third party reverb/s is global reverb/s on auxiliary send channel/s to apply across multiple tracks in a project.

Well, I think the integration of the reverb in v8 is pretty good. I know I said that I wasn't in a hurry to try an external reverb, but... what the heck, I went ahead and tried it anyway! Early results are promising. With a bit of work, I think I'll be able to achieve some satisfying 'piano in a hall' sounds. I really struggled with reverb in v7, but v8 seems to work much better.
