I have sheets to all. The twelfth piece, Finale, is possibly a problem…. it looks the most difficult of all. But with three days per piece, approximately, (No 1, 4, 6, 7, 8 , 11, 12) it should take a month, maybe.
No 2, 3, 5, 9, 10 are already done.

H. M. Higgs worked with several music publishers and published a fairly large output of organ music. Thanks to a member in an other forum we know now that he was organist of Christ Church, Sutton, and St. Paul's Church, Great Portland Street, London.

Taken as a group, there is a lot of creative variety in these diverse pieces, and if I can play No 12, Finale, will bring it all to a close.
I have listened to all and like them and hope people listening in his forum can like them too.

All these facts I use for the pieces were written by a friend and I got permission to use them. (Thank you , Dave)

Best,

Stig

From 12 Miniatures No 2
I think this is definitely a very pleasant piece, but short.

Henry Marcellus Higgs (1854-1929) was the son of Marcellus Higgs (1827-1897) and Clara Tomlin. His father, also an organist, published no organ music.

H. M. Higgs worked with several music publishers and published a fairly large output of organ music.

"Twelve Miniatures" dates from 1913 and was published by Novello & Co. Ltd. The set was part of the publisher's "Original Compositions for the Organ (New Series)," where it appears as No. 27. It is dedicated: "To A. Healey Foster, Esq." Each piece is different in style and format, and some could be called "studies" as they deal with a particular technical aspect of organ playing.

The second piece, which I play here, ”Allegro non troppo" is in the key of G major, and written in 6/8 time. Tempo is squick, even breathless, conitinuous flow.

This is No 2 of the 12 Miniatures. I have earlier uploaded No 3, 5, 9 and 10. Maybe I could gather them in one upload.

My favourite is Allegro deciso (Twelve Miniatures, No. 3)

From 12 Miniatures No 2

https://youtu.be/WL3IFiRWQO0

And My favourite From 12 Miniatures No 3 Allegro decision

https://youtu.be/_Hzd1W_m2OM

Best wishes,

Stig

Pianoteqenthusiast, Organteqenthusiast, Harpteqenthusiast, Harpsichordteqenthusiast, CP-80teqenthusiast, experimenter and Graf/Grimalditeqenthusiast, Celesteteqenthusiast, Vibraphoneteqenthusiast, Erardteqenthusiast and Church Bellsteqenthusiast
