]]>well, if you ever saw a guy playing "the real thing", it's really not the same way you play a piano keyboard. So, if you want to emulate the cimbalom "playing" in a credible manner...
1) never use more than 2 notes at once: you only have 2 mallets (and probably not more than 2 hands?!)
2) use the sustain pedal a lot, otherwise, there is virtually no sustain at all, it's more like a "pizzicato"...This is the guy I worked with as sound engineer ("l'opéra pompier", from Victor Kissine) and when I had a very close look at the instrument. Hence the demo :-)

How true! Although when I first started piano lessons, my older sister told me I was too young to use the pedals. When asked when I would be old enough, she replied."I'll tell you." She never did... So far years I never used the pedal but I did learn how to play legato!

]]>Opened Pianoteq, clicked Options, then clicked Add-ons, then I scrolled down till the downloaded instruments that needed installing appeared. Then clicked Install. They now show up in the pop-up window that has all the instruments and presets.
I think I remembered that right.

Drag and Drop the file from your file manager to the opened Pianoteq window. Works for PTQ and FXP files.
