Hi Michael,

Sorry, my mistake. I forgot that I have a version of Pianoteq installed which is used for beta-testing. (It’s exactly the same as the released version, except that it may change a little during a beta-test to incorporate whatever new feature or model that is being tested.) Didn’t know that fxp’s from that version can’t be loaded in the released version of the software. Ah, well.
Problem is though that I don’t have the regular version installed, so I can’t make an fxp that would be of use to you. Which is why I made four screenshots of the PTQ interface (with the MKII Pad.fxp loaded) instead, so that you can have a look at all the settings and maybe recreate the patch yourself. You can download a ZIP-file containing those four screenshots via this link.

Sorry again.

Piet

_

Piet De Ridder,

I am having difficulty loading the MKII Pad.fxp into my Pianoteq 7.5.4, even though I own the instrument pack that contains the MkII Basic Stereo preset. Pianoteq keeps telling me that it can't read the fxp file and that it is the wrong version.

Just looking at the readable strings in the fxp file, I note the following line:

"Pianoteq NEXT 7.6.0/20220630"

and I wonder if this is causing the difficulty, since I am not sure that Pianoteq 7.6.0 has been generally released as yet.

I have been looking at some Youtube discussions of the Clavinet D6 and there are examples of "tuning" it to sound like a decent Spanish Guitar. This may enable one to use at least some sort of strings as a string pad for your Layering.

I haven't managed to find the correct settings to get the Spanish Guitar sound out of the Clavinet D6, but as it is referenced in the original promo film for the Clavinet, it can't be impossible to achieve with a bit of hackery.

Michael
