+1 to Reaper -- I'm _loving_ it, even if the learning curve was a little steep at first. (Talk about a "modular" -- or at least highly-adaptable -- DAW! The increase in efficiency _alone_ is worth the migration, IMHumO.)

Yeah, ProTools is a load of old code which was built upon countless times. Reaper is a fresh application which gets constant improvements, and it's the single most efficient DAW on the market. And all that for only 4 MB

So I take it it works for you in Reaper?

Try it in Reaper. Probably cheaper alternative than Logic.

It also has uncrippled demo for 30 days. And after that just a 5 seconds nag screen, and then it continues being uncrippled.

While recording, the sustain effect is patchy. I wasn't even playing anything demanding--Chopin's Prelude in E minor (Op 28 No 4). As I'm recording, notes that should be sustaining cut off prematurely and abruptly. It's very distracting and annoying. But when I play back the MIDI I just recorded, it sounds fine.

Maybe it's because I'm on OSX 10.6.1 and Pro Tools LE 8.0.3pr, i.e., pre-release? (Don't get me started on Digidesign... Snow Leopard has only been out for how many months now? And they still don't have an official release!?)

Anyone else with this issue? Any ideas on how to remedy it? (Besides getting Logic )
