Well, it makes the whole thing more interesting and you have to make a little effort when you listen - I like thatSome sections: intro growing slowly, good
2) 2,34 - 3,11 like it much. The downward playing made me think of my fifth down and fourth up
3) 4,05 - 4,27 Amazing - love it!
4) 5,18 - 6,16 The best part, love it, aah what a joy! Here I also think about my fifth and fourth, very nice playing.This was completely different from how others play it but I love challenges as I listen. Bravo budo, and it turned out as you said - ”completely different so it doesn't exactly sound like broadway”.

thank you so much for your comments. the parts 2) and 4) that you mention are indeed doing a cycle of fifths (or fourths), just like your etude the original doesn't do that but does do the descending stepwise motion you get after doing 2 fourths (i just stuck another in between). actually this part in the original stands out a lot and feels very different from the rest of it. i think they stuck it in to make the final modulation make more sense (the original tune starts out in B and then modulates to Bb. that's very unusual in musicals, almost no songs modulate down at the end.) i really appreciate your detailed listening and your supportive comments.
