It does have a 'nicely restored or re-mastered vintage recording' flavor which works so well - without having to resort to lots of FX.. you have done well and embody this piano and probably have come to 'as good as it gets' in terms of exporting audio for this piano and repertoire.

All recording and audio export I do within the Pianoteq interface. I have Audacity and Reaper but when I try to go "upmarket" things only get worse because I have no mastering skills. So I never use them.

So pleased you like the sound. I prefer older vintage pianos and it's good to know this comes across. Hope you're doing well these days.

Yes, I agree with all the comments, it sounds splendid. I like the piano blend very much, lovely vintage sound - perhaps you should upload it to fxp corner for people who may have missed this post and your 'recipe'.

I just uploaded the fxp with a few minor tweaks. Hope I did it right. Posted an mp3 of Grieg himself playing Butterfly recorded on piano roll in 1907. The MIDI format of the piano roll I found at the Stanford University Piano Roll Archive, a treasure trove of MIDI files of many great pianists who made piano rolls. MIDI was rendered with the Erard morphed fxp just posted.

If anyone is wondering, I used the Close Mic for all 3 pianos with the Bechstein at 20, the Pleyel at 20, and the Erard at 60. The pianos are tuned at A 432.

Robert, not a doodle at all. It’s very well done with the touch of Chopin woven in. Enjoyable!
And nice interesting sound. If you would not have said it is morphing, I would have thought it is a good, a bit modified, Pianoteq sound.

Actually, had to listen several times, and it is  beautifully played - in my opinion you are so expressive and it’s like you connect with every note and the nice changing tempo. Unfortunately it's just too short. But I can listen to it in a loop   Thank you Robert!
