Thank you budo for uploading this lovely version, you always make your own versions, arrangements, when playing. This is sooo good!
There are several very nice sections in your playing, wonderful chords, love them. I mention only some here

section 1,14 - 1,32 after the quiet, pleasant introduction, the first opening comes, like opening a door a little and hearing more

section 2,17 - 2,58 in this episode the door is completely open and wonderful music is coming towards me, love it

section 3,35 - 3,46 door is open but the door closes slowly, very nice

I have to listen several times first and then I’m thinking why I like it and analyze a bit, well, that’s me

btw, somewhere on yt Niles is telling that the piece was written for Pat Metheny when Niles was studying with him in 1974. ("Empathy" is an anagram of his name).

Well, you have your style and I mentioned once ”budomusic”. It could be your brand or trade mark, providing an easy way to recognize and remember the name that evokes a positive response or emotions in listeners..

There is the question How many times do I need to listen to a piece to see if I like it? It’s different for different people of course. Sometimes I listen just once and like it, sometimes I have to listen more than once. But with budomusic one time is often enough, and I like it (but I always have to analyze it)

Thanks budo

Best wishes

Stig

Pianoteqenthusiast, Organteqenthusiast, Harpteqenthusiast, Harpsichordteqenthusiast

another composition by Richard Niles from the Real Book that he never recorded. unlike most tunes in the book, this one is a fairly complete arrangement, which at least means one has a reasonable idea of what he wants it to sound like. like Looking Back it also has a great chord progression. this one has been on YT for a while but i never shared it before.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kvn3amvlUeY
