thank you, i really appreciate it. it's amazing to me that he accomplished all he did in such a short time (he died at 40). hard to imagine where he would have gone musically if he had lived.

i'm not sure which piano i used here because i kind of choose them impulsively when rendering. often i record with a different piano than the final track, just because i like to try playing all different ones. but lately i've been rendering with tweaked versions of NY Steinway Jazz Recording and Petrol Mistral Jazz Recording (main changes are condition slider + slightly wetter impulse reverb).

Hi budo,

When I discovered Coltrane (around 1955 ...) I was both bewildered and enthusiastic.
I really find the madness of Coltrane in your interpretation.
What piano do you play for this piece ?

thank you for your listening and comments. i'm glad you enjoyed some of the more bizarre parts of it! for me a tune where you just play F and Eb over and over again is ideal ... plenty of room to spread out

I think it doesn’t matter, don't worry about it, it's not important. You understand this tune. Thanks for your lovely interpretation of it. You created a good ”arrangement”. Some places I have a physical reaction to it, the beauty I here in it takes on special meaning - want to hear it again

Nice intro, the chords 3,55-4,01 beauty 4,36-5,26 like it much in high register, 5,43-6,52 wonderful left hand !!! last 30 seconds always nice.

a somewhat unusual tune from the real book by Frank Loesser. Loesser wrote many standards (like If I Were a Bell) but this one is in here because it was part of Coltrane's book. as you can see not much is going on harmonically, so it means the the tune can be a lot more open, which can be a feature or a bug
