My Roland does, and the only effect I've noticed from it is the hammer or damper thump sound (probably both?) when the key is released fast, just as it would sound in a physical piano.

My synth-weighted Korg X5D sends active release velocity. It's not written in the spec. I was surprised by this discovery!

BTW; Novation X-Station (possibly Xiostation too) also send release velocity, although not written in spec!

According to sections 1.3 and 10.4 of the manual, yes, it does support release velocity, but not sure whether it changes the intensity, or just the duration. I'm *guessing* it will only affect the duration.

Greg.

No matter how fast or slowly I release a key, Pianoteq's key release noise is the same. That's obviously not realistic. Are there any MIDI keyboards that send MIDI velocity of key release? And does Pianoteq recognize this data? Does such MIDI data even exist? Seems like it'd be a useful feature, particularly on stringed and wind instruments, and even drums (for choking cymbals to varying degrees).
