I have an LX-17 now meh and I find playing on it very fatiguing. I thought installing this on my real piano would solve this problem.

It has been several years, but I retrofitted the QRS PnoScan II laser key reading strip and stop bar to an old Steinway upright. This was excellent for me, as it gives me both a beautiful acoustic piano sound that can be "turned off" with the stop bar, as well as MIDI output that I can use into Pianoteq or other digital instrument software. One thing that I have given up on (for a while) is making a true hybrid system using Pianoteq through an amplifier to drive transducers that I have attached to different places on the acoustic piano soundboard – balancing the tone to make it sound realistic is not a straightforward task, but just using the QRS key reading strip to produce output and playing that through a good pair of speakers is much more reliable.
