while looking for the above i found this video that i had never seen before.  it contains audio of Monk practicing this tune at home.  perhaps a bit arcane but i found it fascinating to hear him working through it.

A little nice trip again. I enjoyed it. But different from many of your previous ones. It was like an elegant walk with more and more improvisations a bit more and more away from the theme/melody, and then back, but same nice tempo.
Its a joy to listen when you let the natural talent flow from your fingertips. Great. You have my total respect.  Now I have to try this piece myself although it isn’t my genre…..but after Rag time, Boogie, Nutcracker…it’s a bit different for me, who knows…..maybe.....
