Thanks sjgcit, that's really useful info. I'm planning to dual-boot Windows and Linux on an old laptop, when I have time to sort it out!

I dual both Linux and Windows on my desktop. Both have copies of the latest Pianoteq 7.4.1 and both work - I use both OSes almost every day. I also have one copy on a laptop running Linux. My account lists me as having two license slots used (not three).

So it seems that the licenses are linked to the hardware, not the OS.

You do, however need to activate the versions on each OS.

I would not deactivate a license. If you do this I think the machine that activation is associated with will be permanently black-listed and you will not (without help from support) be able to activate any copy of Pianoteq on it again. Instead just forget the existing install under MacOS and install and activate a new copy under the new OS. I think that would leave the number of license slots used unchanged.

Hello,

I have an old mac pro from the mid of 2009. Unfortunately, the laptop is too slow for any modern macOS, therefore I have decided to upload one of the Linux distributions and forget I used to have a mac. Then, I am going to keep using Pianoteq on a new OS.

I am not entirely sure how I should handle the license in this situation, which might either be bound to an OS/User name or the hardware. If the latter is true, then I should not do anything.

Did someone else have a similar problem?
